noindex Checker

A noindex robots directive is the most common reason a finished site never appears in Google. This checker reads the live HTML and flags it.

Where noindex hides

A meta robots tag, an X-Robots-Tag header, or a WordPress Reading setting that writes noindex on every template. View source, do not trust the CMS checkbox alone.

noindex is not robots.txt

Blocking a URL in robots.txt stops crawling; it does not reliably unindex it. To keep a page out of results, allow the crawl and noindex it. See the full guide.

Staging leftovers

The classic launch bug: Discourage search engines was ticked on staging and never unticked. One checkbox, whole site gone.
