llms.txt Checker

llms.txt is a plain-text file at your domain root that tells AI systems who you are, what to read, and which URLs matter. Missing it is not a Google ranking penalty — but it is a missed citation signal.

What llms.txt is

A Markdown-ish briefing at https://yourdomain.com/llms.txt. Think robots.txt for language models: a short description, key pages, and what the product actually is — so a model does not confuse you with a namesake brand.

Do you need one?

If you want to be cited accurately, yes. It is cheap (one static file), and it is how you disambiguate a contested name. If you only care about classic Google blue links, it is optional polish.

What we flag

Whether /llms.txt returns 200, and whether the file has any real content. We do not grade marketing copy — we check that the door exists.
